1969: Blind Faith makes its live debut in the U.S. at Madison Square Garden. Eric Clapton, tired of the chaos of Cream, and Steve Winwood, in the wake of the breakup of Traffic, are the sparks that light Blind Faith. Drummer Ginger Baker supplies the beat. And even though hundreds of thousands of fans roar their approval, the perfectionist Clapton is in constant anxiety over what he views as Blind Faith’s constant shortcomings.
