At the 40th Annual Grammy Awards, Bob Dylan’s 30th studio album Time Out of Mind wins in the categories of Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Folk Album and, for Cold Irons Bound, Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. At the awards ceremony Dylan performs the song Love Sick. During the performance, Michael Portnoy, an American multimedia artist and choreographer, rips off his shirt, runs up next to Dylan, and starts dancing and contorting with the words “Soy Bomb” painted in black across his chest. Dylan shoots an alarmed glance at Portnoy, but carries on playing. Portnoy continues to dance for about 40 seconds, until security escorts him off stage. Time Out of Mind also includes Highlands, which takes its central motif from a 1790 poem by Robert Burns, My Heart’s in the Highlands.
