Brewer and ShipleyBrewer and Shipley enter the U.S. charts with One Toke Over the Line. It will peak at #10 despite being banned by some radio stations for alleged drug references. Brewer and Shipley maintain that the word “toke” means “token” as in ticket, hence the line “waitin’ downtown at the railway station, one toke over the line.” Right. Got it.
