Steve Kline Ages of Rock
June 9, 1964
During an evening session, Bob Dylan records Mr. Tambourine Man at Columbia Recording Studios in New York City. It is the first session for the LP that will become Another Side of Bob Dylan. Dylan records 14 original compositions this night. Later, The Byrds’ cover of Mr. Tambourine Man tops U.S. charts and ushers in the era of folk-rock, with jangly guitars and intellectual lyrics.
